ASTM A213 T9
ASME SA213 T9 Tube is useful in modern power devices that operate with high efficiency to guarantee their long-term, safe and trouble-free operation. ASTM a213 T9 Tube is used to heat water that is circulated through a closed loop piping system for general facility and service water heating. Low-temperature systems generally operate below 200°C. Medium-temperature systems generally operate between 200 and 250°C. SA213 T9 Boiler Tube is made from heat resisting carbon and low alloy steel which can withstand the loads at various pressures and temperatures. Boiler tubes is useful for parts of energy type equipment’s like boilers, super heaters, economizers, heat exchangers, etc. T9 boiler tubes are manufactured as hot rolled or cold drawn with welded and seamless manufacturing process. Size and grades of tubes are decided by the boilers manufacturer which is based on the type of fuel, temperatures, pressures and also the quantum of steam required.
A213 Gr T9 Seamless Tubes are completely homogenous tubes, the properties of which give it more strength, superior corrosion resistance, and the ability to withstand higher pressure than A213 Gr T9 welded tube. Alloy Steel T9 Seamless Tubing is made by extruding the metal over a mandrel while Alloy Steel T9 Welded Tubing is produced from a strip that is roll formed and welded to produce it and resizing thru a set of dies to achieve the outer diameter and wall thickness desired. Alloy Steel T9 Welded Tubing is considerably less expensive than Alloy Steel T9 Seamless Tubing and is readily available in long continuous lengths. ASME SA213 Grade T9 has a high percentage of other elements apart from iron and carbon. Other elements, such as silicon, manganese, nickel, copper, titanium and chromium. Alloy elements are added to improve the hardness and durability of the A213 T9 tubing. And also, it improves corrosion resistance due to the high amount of other elements like chromium. Depending on each component’s proportion, A213 T9 Tubing property changes. Commonly, alloy steel has comparatively low strength, high weld ability, high melting points, high ductility, and high corrosion resistance.
