ASTM A285 Grade C Plate should not be considered for use in high pressure applications. It has good weldability under conventional methods using fusion welding. The plates supplied to this standard are usually delivered ‘as rolled’ unless otherwise specified.
A285 steel Heavy plate is widely used in chemical,petroleum, power station, boiler and other industries, for the production of heat exchangers,reactors, separators, gas tanks,spherical tanks, liquefied gas tanks, boiler steam drums, nuclear reactor pressure shells, liquefied petroleum gas cylinders, high-pressure water pipes of hydropower stations, water wheel volutes and other equipment and components. SA285GrC standard steel plates are acceptable for low and medium tensile strength carbon steel plates for melting welding pressure vessels.
EN 10025 ASTM A285 c Pressure Vessel Plate should be made by killed; semi killed, capped or rimmed steel practice at the producer option to be used for fusion welded pressure vessels.
A285 material is the standard specification for pressure vessel, carbon steel, low- and intermediate-tensile strength intended for fusion-welded pressure vessels.
SA 285 Grade C structural steel plate offer good properties at high and low temperatures. The delivery status of the product is usually normalizing rolling.
SA 285 boiler steel plates are used by fabricators in the production of weldable pressure vessels & boilers. As it is specifically for low to intermediate tensile strength, this standard supplied under should be used in low pressure storage tanks, boilers and vessels.
