ASTM A283 Grade C
ASTM A283 Grade C Plate is used for general purpose structural applications of medium strength (60 ksi tensile) requirement. The machinability of it is good, as compared to any low carbon steel.
ASTM A283 Grade C Carbon Steel Plate can be welded by all conventional methods. Its heat treatment consists of normalizing at 1650 F and slow furnace cool.
A 283 GR C Pressure Vessel Plates hot working can be done at 1650 - 1700 F or lower temperatures. It can be readily cold worked by using conventional method and can be annealed at 1550 to 1800 F and slow furnace cool.
A283 Steel material is an alloy of iron, further classified as carbon steel. This steel specification of low carbon steel plates covers four grades of structural quality for general application. ASTM A283 Grade A, ASTM A283 Grade B, ASTM A283 Grade C and ASTM A283 Grade D.
ASTM A283 Grade D boiler steel plates is a low & intermediate tensile strength hot rolled steel in the form of plates for general intermediate strength applications. It is relatively higher in strength than A283 GRC.
ASTM A283 Grade A structural steel plates is a low & intermediate tensile strength hot Rolled steel for general intermediate strength applications. It has the lowest strength and highest ductility compared to the other grade of ASTM A283 steel.
ASTM A283 Grade B enhanced shall conform to the requirements of the current of specification a6/a6m. In the process, it shall be made by one or more of following processes such as electric furnace, open hearth and basic oxygen.
ASTM A283C Mild Steel Heavy plate is a type of carbon steel which has a low amount of carbon. It ranges vary depending on the source; the amount of carbon typically found in mild steel is 0.05% to 0.25% by weight
