The ASTM A672 is a specification which covers electrical fusion welded, or abbreviated in short as EFW steel pipe. This specified ASTM A672 C65 electric fusion welded steel pipe is a grade which has been designed for use in high pressured service. While the ASTM A672 C65 cl22 electric fusion welded steel pipe can be utilized in applications involving high pressure, it is important to note that the ASTM A672 C65 steel pipe must be used up until moderate temperatures. Heat treatment may or may not be required to be performed on the ASTM A672 C65 EFW Straight Welded pipe in order to attain its desired properties. Neither does conducting a heat treatment on the a672 gr C65 cl22 Lower Temperature Pipe comply with the applicable code requirements according to this specification.

An analysis of each mill heat of plate material used in the ASTM A672 C65 is to be conducted. Also, an analysis of the finished deposited weld material needs to be done on the a672 gr C65 EFW Straight Welded pipe. This analysis is to be performed on the ASTM A672 C65 Electric Fusion Welded Pipe from each about 500 ft or fraction thereof. The mechanical test requirements for the ASTM specified A672 C65 Fusion Welded Pipe includes a single tension test specimen, which has been used to represent each lot of finished pipe. Additionally a single transverse guided weld bend test, which would require about two specimens can be used to represent each lot of finished A672 c65 cl22 Welded pipe. Also, according to the specification a radiographic examination is to be conducted on the ASTM A672 C65 EFW Pipe to be completed on the full length of each weld.
