Alloy 31 Pipe

Alloy 31 Pipe

UNS N08031 Alloy 1.4562 Exhaust Pipes are a nickel, chromium and molybdenum grade stainless steel. This grade of Alloy 31 pipes also has additions of both nitrogen and copper. The properties of this alloy pipe are a combination of moderate tensile strength along with high ductility and excellent corrosion resistance. The Nicrofer 3127 hMo UNS S08031 Pipe demonstrates excellent resistance to corrosion in not only sulfuric acid, but also in reducing and oxidizing media. This Alloy 31 n08031 Electropolished Pipes has strong resistance to both corrosion and erosion corrosion, especially in phosphoric acid containing environments.

Therefore the ASTM B626 UNS S08031 Polished Pipes are used in applications such as pulp and paper industry, sea water heat exchangers, flue gas desulphurization - FGD - systems, petroleum production and refining industry as well as in mining industry, ore processing etc. In fact, this ASTM specified SB 626 UNS S08031 Thin Wall Pipe could be used in sour gas applications involving the oil and gas industry.

When the Alloy 31 pipe is used in Chloridoxid bleaching plants in paper production and if used in the presence of boiling 67% nitric acid, the alloy has Excellent resistance to both general and localized corrosion as well. Alloy 1.4562 welded pipes also has the ability to resist corrosion even in alkaline and acid halide containing media. Typically alloy grade uns n08031 seamless pipe is known to have a PREN value of ≥ 48. A higher PREN value or pitting resistance equivalent number indicates that the resistance to pitting corrosion of that particular alloy grade is high. The alloy 31 seamless pipe can be used in settings where the temperature ranges between -196°C to 550°C. Additionally, since the alloy 31 welded pipe has very good weldability properties, it can be used for welding based applications as well. Alloy 31 Pipes are very superior to alloy 625 pipe & other nickel alloy pipe and suitable for transporting extremely corrosive liquids.
