This specification also covers in nominal pressure between the ranges PN 2.5 to PN 40 as well as nominal sizes up to DN 4000. Substantially, the BS4504 Standard agrees with the specification of the ISO 7005-1 : 1992 (E) Part 1 : Steel Flanges. BS4504 has a numerical designation of size which is common to all components in a piping system other than components designed by outer diameters or by thread size. BS4504 Pn16 flange dimensions covers integrally cast or forged, plain, boss, and welding neck type flanges. Although it is obsolescent, it remains in use today for the dimensions of light duty as well as economic stainless steel flanges.
