Maraging Steel 350 Plate
Maraging Steel 350 Plate is a nickel-maraging alloy that is comparatively soft, but exceptionally tough. It can also be readily machined and formed to various specifications. In addition, the aging process of it raises the hardness to a level sufficient for many tooling applications.
maraging c350 Sheet is a nickel/cobalt steel alloy that is essentially carbon-free, it has other alloying elements such as molybdenum, aluminum and titanium. This combination creates a superior maraging steel with a variety of features such as extremely tough, corrosion resistance & crack propagation, readily weldable, uniform, predictable shrinkage during heat treatment, easily nitride, easily weldable.
c350 maraging steel material is used for numerous industrial applications, some of which include wind tunnel models, missile & rocket motor cases, landing gear components, high performance shafting, gears & fasteners, aerospace, extrusion tooling, die casting, etc.
vascomax c350 Plates can be heat treated to 900 F +/- 10 holding at temperature for 6 hours then cooling at room air temperature. During the aging treatment it shrinks uniformly and predictably on all dimensions .001 in/in
In the annealed condition maraging steel 350 is comparable to 4340. However, when it is aged, the type of cutting tool and speeds has to be changed and firm tool supports, rigid equipment, sharp tools and abundant coolant are essential.
vascomax 350 is weld able without preheat, in both the annealed and aged condition. Only an aging heat treatment is needed to restore in the weldedability.
maraging 350 is produced by vacuum arc re-melting and provides a very high strength nominally 350 ksi tensile with an above average level of toughness. It retains its strength up to 450°C and good notch impact is maintained down to - 50°C and below.
