Nitronic 60
It is available in different specifications, forms and sizes. We ensure that we provide good quality of product to our valuable customers. Therefore our specialized quality team verifies all the quality parameters according to international standards. UNS S21800 is truly an all-purpose metal. It is a fully austenitic alloy which is originally manufactured as a temperature alloy, and eventually has good high temperature properties for temperatures around 1800ºF. Nitronic 60 Stainless Steel oxidation resistance is far superior to stainless steel 304 and similar to stainless steel 309 and it is best known for its wear and galling resistance. The additions of Silicon and Manganese in Nitronic 60 UNS S21800 provide inhibit wear, galling, and fretting even in the annealed condition. By cold working its high strength can be attainable and even after severe cold-working and it still remain fully austenitic.
AMS 5848 is useful for chain link conveyer belts and other elements; chain drives; bolts, nuts and other fasteners; valve stems, seats and trim; fittings for pumps and valves in chemical processing industries; bridge pins; pins, bushings and roller bearings; aerospace applications. Nitronic 60 Round Bar is lower cost solution to wear and galling problems than cobalt bearing and high nickel alloys. It is austenitic stainless steel high strength which can be strengthened by nitrogen. It differs from more familiar austenitic stainless steels in containing 8% manganese and 4% silicon. The corrosion resistance of AMS 5848 Nitronic 60 is better than 304 stainless in most environments. The yield strength of it is nearly twice that of stainless steels 304 and 316. Its chloride pitting resistance is superior to stainless 316 which provide low temperature impact and excellent resistance to high temperature oxidation. Nitronic 60 Bar can be hot forged. After forging it should be solution annealed. It cannot be strengthened by heat treatment. It should be solution annealed at 1060°C, followed by water quenching.
